Academic Technology Analyst

The Academic Technology Analyst will be responsible for application administration, integration support and management, and maintenance of academic information systems including analysis, design, configuration, implementation, and support of new and existing enterprise software applications. 
 
The position will work on behalf of the Office of the Provost Academic Innovation team and Pitt Information Technology, Enterprise Applications department to ensure that new and emerging technologies provide personalized, meaningful collaborations, connections, and experiences that will prepare and empower our students to lead lives of self-determined impact through educational experiences tailored to each student's specific goals and needs.
 
The selected candidate will act in the capacity to manage and complete multiple tasks and participate in cross-functional teams to analyze both the business processes and functional capabilities of selected applications to meet University objectives, strategic plans, and business requirements. Must be able to integrate/interface new systems with current University applications and external vendor systems. The incumbent will participate with a cross-functional team daily and act as a liaison to student services departments. This role provides ongoing systems administration and is responsible for data accuracy, problem solving, reporting, data analysis, and auditing 

The Academic Technology Analyst responsibilities include:
- Functional and technical support and implementation of applications and configurations as well as the execution of support activities. 
- Implement solutions that exploit application functionality in coordination with other members of the Enterprise Applications and Academic Innovation teams.
- Build relationships and facilitate collaboration across all student service areas, regional campuses, Office of the Provost and Pitt IT.
- Work with the functional users to identify and document functional and technical requirements.
- Coordinate testing with functional users (functionality, integration, load & performance, etc.)
- Assist in the design of interfaces to and from other applications using appropriate technology.
- Lead multiple initiatives, gather relevant data, and make sound decisions, resolve dynamic problems, and deliver on tight deadlines.

Combination of education, experience and/or industry certifications will be considered in lieu of education. 

Must have experience with business processes related to student information systems.

- Three to five years of relevant IT and/or student systems experience implementing and/or supporting systems, integrations, and processes.
-  One to two years of project management experience required.
- Must be proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, etc.) products with exemplary knowledge of Excel.
- Highly motivated self-starter, with the ability to meet stringent deadlines, to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to help generate relevant metrics to further business and strategic initiatives and priorities.
- Willingness to work in a fluid environment with high adaptability to change.
- Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication and collaboration skills; must be detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Understanding of higher education environment, and an ability to coordinate among overlapping but discrete populations and priorities. 
- Comfort with ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities; willingness to iterate as initiatives grow and change.
Preferred (not required): Lean Six Sigma certification; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
