 Sacred Heart University (SHU) seeks a collaborative, strategic, and forward-thinking leader to serve as the Dean of the Jack Welch College of Business & Technology (WCBT). This search takes place at a crucial time of growth and advancement at the University and the College which, together, position the Dean to build upon existing strengths and shape plans for the future. The Dean will develop a strategy that unifies and reinforces the strengths of business and technology and lead a distinctive College located within a progressive Catholic university. This is an exceptional opportunity for a creative, entrepreneurial, and mission-driven individual to join a community motivated by social justice who aim to make a difference in the global society. The Dean will create a distinguishing brand that is anchored in the quality of academic programs, preeminence of research, and impact on the challenges facing the business and technology world today. With the goal of moving from an R3 to an R2 classification, Sacred Heart University and the Welch College of Business & Technology are on an upward trajectory.

 

Sacred Heart University is a private, Catholic liberal arts institution located in Fairfield, CT, with international campuses in Dingle, Ireland and Luxembourg. The WCBT is AACSB-accredited and recently moved into a state-of-the-art facility on West Campus. The WCBT is home to over 2,200 students as well as 65 faculty members and 13 staff. The College’s mission focuses on developing students’ ethical reasoning skills, an entrepreneurial mindset, data and technology literacy, and global perspectives. Rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition, the College values scholarship as contributing to learning, understanding, and the search for the truth; stresses the primacy of teaching as the focus on their work; and finds strength in diversity, inviting participation by persons of varied races, faith traditions, ethnic backgrounds, and diverse opinions and beliefs.

 

Sacred Heart University seeks a Dean who will lead the College’s faculty, staff, and Board of Visitors to develop and execute a strategy to strengthen the WCBT’s brand, implement new program offerings, set a clear vision for its future, develop strong relationships in industry, and shape a framework to enhance and promote the student experience and student success. On campus, the Dean will be a natural collaborator and coalition builder, working with colleagues to develop exciting initiatives. The Dean will also nurture the position and collegial culture of the WCBT. Off campus, the Dean will engage with alumni, stakeholders, and corporate partners to increase the College’s resource base and further its reach and impact.
