Faculty Position in David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA

The Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics (https://www.mimg.ucla.edu/) in collaboration with The Immunology, Inflammation, Infection and Transplantation (I3T) Research Theme at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine (https://medschool.ucla.edu/immunology/) is searching for a tenure-track Professor. Preference will be given to applicants at the Assistant Professor level, but exceptional candidates at Associate or Full Professor will receive full consideration.

We are seeking applications from candidates in all areas of microbiology and immunology. Candidates with expertise in bacterial pathogenesis and the microbiome & disease are particularly encouraged to apply. We highly encourage applications from women and underrepresented minorities and physician-scientists with a commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse and inclusive population of young scientists. The successful candidate may have a joint appointment in a clinical department.

Candidates must have a PhD, MD or equivalent degree and a research track record that supports an independent research program and complements ongoing research at the institution. The primary criteria for selection will be excellence and creativity in research and scholarship. Excellence in teaching, the ability to obtain extramural grant funding, a demonstrated commitment to equity, and diversity inclusion, as well as strong oral and written communication skills will also be considered.
