President

President, DePaul University

Chicago, Illinois

DePaul University seeks an entrepreneurial, strategic, and collaborative leader to serve as its next President. DePaul, the largest Catholic university in the United States, is an intellectually vibrant, financially stable institution poised for even greater prominence. True to its Vincentian mission to serve the public good and give people of all ethnicities and backgrounds the opportunity to receive a college education, it always has been an institution that serves first-generation and low-income students. A servant leader, the next President will join this deeply dedicated, mission-driven community and build upon the university’s areas of excellence to ensure DePaul’s ongoing success in a dynamic higher education landscape.

Established in 1898 as St. Vincent’s College, DePaul has evolved from its humble beginnings as the “little school under the El” to a university with 10 colleges and schools on two campuses that enrolls nearly 22,000 students. The University enrolls more Pell recipients than 94% of all colleges and universities in the U.S. and graduates them at a higher rate than most other universities with a similar number of Pell students. Approximately 90% of recent undergraduate and graduate degree recipients were employed or continuing their education within six months of graduation. As DePaul approaches its 125th anniversary, it has over 122,000 alumni in the Chicago metro area.

DePaul seeks a leader committed to the Vincentian mission and excellence in all university endeavors who will build on its enduring strengths to firmly establish DePaul as one of the country’s finest institutions in higher education. To achieve this aspirational goal, the new President must provide inspirational, collaborative, and forward-looking leadership; set a bold vision and clear strategy to advance DePaul’s mission and reputation; lead, manage, and ensure financial sustainability; be prepared to lead a comprehensive fundraising campaign; strengthen DePaul’s commitment to its Vincentian mission, academic excellence, and community service; bolster DePaul’s commitment and action on issues of equity, diversity, and inclusion; and strengthen DePaul’s relationships with the Chicago community.
