Description

 

The University of Chicago’s Development Innovation Lab (DIL) and the Kenneth C. Griffin Department of Economics invite applications for a full-time Research Associate position. This is a two-year renewable position that will begin on December 1, 2021 and is based in Chicago.

 

The Research Associate will conduct original research under the supervision of the DIL Director (Professor Michael Kremer). They will conduct research operations, including supervision of other members of the research team; co-author research papers; serve as a key member of the DIL leadership team; participate in the full range of the research cycle from proposal-stages to publication dissemination, and present their work at professional conferences and in meetings with potential and current funders.

 

Qualifications

 

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Economics; at least one year of research experience subsequent to a Ph.D.; a strong background in economics, education and development; and a demonstrated ability in statistical methods relevant to the study of education and the economics of education. Experience designing and conducting randomized controlled trials on education topics in low- and lower-middle-income countries, and success in coordinating research with multiple stakeholder partners in these settings is required. Strong preference will be given to researchers who have experience in Kenya.
