Senior Vice President for Advancement and External Affairs

Iona College, a nationally recognized independent liberal arts college serving close to 3,600 students, is seeking a highly skilled and bold Senior Vice President for Advancement and External Affairs. Founded in 1940 by the Congregation of Christian Brothers, a religious order of educators, Iona is a private Catholic college located on a 45-acre campus in New Rochelle, only 20 miles north of Manhattan in suburban Westchester County, New York. The College is in the process of purchasing an additional campus in nearby Bronxville, NY, and has just announced a partnership with NewYork-Presbyterian to form a new School of Health Sciences with a $20 million accompanying gift.

The Senior Vice President for Advancement and External Affairs (SVP for Advancement), who reports directly to the President, serves as the chief development officer and provides extraordinary vision, strategic direction, and entrepreneurial management for the Office of Advancement and External Affairs. President Seamus Carey, working with the Board of Trustees and a strong leadership team, seeks a game-changing advancement leader who can contribute vision and cutting-edge professional knowledge while exploring new levels of private support to help fulfill the College's ambitions for the future. The current period has been one of significant financial growth for Iona, including the recent successful Iona Forever $150 million campaign and endowment growth to $213 million. The proceeds of the campaign support affordability through scholarships, endowed professorships and academic programs, as well as improved learning and living environments. The College has also experienced 15% enrollment growth for the past two consecutive years.

Iona College is seeking an accomplished advancement professional with a superb record of innovative leadership of comprehensive, high achieving advancement programs, and proven success in fundraising, preferably in higher education. High ambition, integrity, and excellence is expected from this new team member. The SVP for Advancement is expected to take office in January 2022 or soon thereafter.
