California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) seeks a visionary Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) to provide leadership to further advance Cal Poly Pomona as an innovative, inclusive polytechnic university. The new Provost & VPAA is expected to take office as early as possible and no later than July 1, 2022.

Cal Poly Pomona is one of two polytechnic universities in the 23-campus California State University system and among 11 such institutions nationwide. Since its founding in 1938, the university has offered a unique education steeped in experiential learning, in which theory and practice are linked in curricular and co-curricular experiential learning activities. With a variety of degree programs in the arts, humanities, sciences, engineering, and professional disciplines, the university is well known for its learn-by-doing philosophy. The university's over 29,000 students are taught and mentored by the campus's more than 1,400 faculty as part of 54 baccalaureate and 29 master's degree programs, 11 credential and certificate programs, and a doctoral program in educational leadership. The Provost & VPAA must have extensive experience as a successful faculty member and academic leader who possesses the academic, financial, and strategic acumen to offer strong, collaborative, and transparent leadership within the community. The Provost and VPAA, the second highest position at the university, will be a trusted partner with the President and provide leadership for day-to-day campus operations while serving on the President's behalf in her absence.

The position requires an earned doctorate/terminal degree from an accredited institution; a record of teaching and scholarship to merit appointment at Cal Poly Pomona at the level of full professor with tenure; substantial and progressive academic management experience with demonstrated success; and demonstrated commitment and successful activities to foster diversity, equity, and inclusive environment for students, faculty members, and/or staff members.
