Dean, Wake Forest University School of Business

Wake Forest University seeks a seasoned and entrepreneurial leader to serve as dean of the School of Business. The School is widely recognized as an innovator in business education and research, developing pathbreaking programs in areas like business analytics and masters education for liberal-arts graduates, and the first highly-ranked business school to move away from the traditional full-time residential MBA. The School plays a critical role in the University's undergraduate and graduate education, interdisciplinary collaborations, research and scholarship, and engagement with community partners.

The nation’s premier collegiate university, Wake Forest is dedicated to educating the whole person and upholding the promise of its motto, Pro Humanitate – for humanity. The University is a distinctive institution, combining a rigorous academic liberal arts core for undergraduates with selective graduate and professional schools, innovative research programs, and creative expression experiences for its lively academic community of more than 8,000 students from 49 states and over 50 countries. Recognized by U.S. News as a "Top 30 National University" for 26 consecutive years, Wake Forest is committed to educating students to be bold thinkers who can address the most challenging problems of today’s world. This commitment is made manifest through the close student-faculty engagement of a residential liberal arts college with the breadth and resources of a nationally prominent research university. Additionally, the University's membership in the NCAA Division I Atlantic Coast Conference adds to both the student experience and global reputation. Wake Forest is a place where a vibrant and diverse learning community weds the pursuit of knowledge, the enjoyment of rich personal experiences, and a commitment to public service.

Reporting directly to Provost Rogan Kersh, the dean will be responsible for overseeing the academic leadership, external relations, and overall administration of the School of Business. The dean will oversee the fiscal management of its $62 million operating budget and have administrative oversight of its current community of 68 faculty (39 tenured or tenure-track), 90 staff, and 1,339 students (701 undergraduate and 638 graduate) on campuses in Winston-Salem and Charlotte. The School of Business has consistently placed among the world’s best by major ranking organizations. The School's attention to competency and character leads to proven results for graduates, who enjoy close personal engagement with a faculty deeply devoted to learning and discovery, and the lifelong advantages of a robust alumni network. Graduates attain personal success while committing themselves to higher causes. The strong core philosophies of the School's business programs produce principled leaders who exert influence far beyond campus and the corporate world, and do so with integrity: together, these underscore a central emphasis on leadership and character.
