Regional Director External Relations and Communication


Miami Regional Development – Hamilton & Middletown Campuses: Regional Director External Relations and Communication oversees the comprehensive external relations strategy for Miami Regionals, to include Development, Corporate and Foundation Relations, Grants, Alumni Engagement, Public Programming, Marketing, Communications and Community Relations.
 

The Regional Director External Relations and Communication will:  

  • Manage Vice President’s development and external relations priorities and engagements
  • Serve as University Advancement Liaison to the Oxford Campus
  • Direct the work of identifying and building relationships with top donors/prospects for the Regionals, fundraising for capital projects, scholarship, programming and faculty development, the regional alumni engagement program, the Public Programming office at Miami Regionals, all marketing efforts to enhance the image and brand of Miami Regionals, for development and marketing budgets for regionals campus locations and oversees a staff of nine classified and three unclassified staff
  • Report progress on development and alumni and community engagement goals
  • Supervise all external efforts for the Regionals and serve as the liaison to ASPIRE (advancing strategy, partnerships, institutional relations, and economy)


Required: Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of development experience, records of success in major gift fundraising (soliciting, closing, and stewarding gifts).


Consideration may be given to candidates with: Master’s degree or CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive) Certification; Management experience in higher education development setting; Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with prospects, donors, deans, and faculty. Experience with Banner or a similar ERD system.
