Description

The School of Education is seeking candidates for the role of Site Coordinator.

The College of New Jersey is seeking to hire Site Coordinators to oversee the site logistics and tutor performance during its school year program. Tutoring sites will be located in schools, Boys and Girls Clubs, and Y Alliance sites. 

Site Coordinators will each be responsible for overseeing work at one site. Placement of site locations may vary.  This is an after school program, and programs will typically run from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.  Site Coordinators will be required to be on-site on days in which tutoring occurs, typically three days per week.

The tutoring program will run from January 24, 2022 through May 20, 2022. 

There will be two weeks of paid training, one in December and one in January; Site Coordinators will select times to attend various training sessions, which will be held at various times to allow for maximum flexibility.

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Works with the Director to develop strong relationships with the site staff and community

  • Ensures that Tutors have the necessary materials needed to help scholars succeed

  • Completes and submits digital records of Tutor and Scholar attendance, scholar rosters, and site concerns

  • Works closely with program staff and participates in weekly meetings with other Site Coordinators 

  • Manages the Tutor's work schedules

  • Apprises the program staff of issues immediately and help work to resolve them

  • Works with Instructional Coaches assigned to sites to review Tutor performance and provide guidance as needed

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in field of education

  • New Jersey Certification of Criminal History (fingerprint form)

  • Experience in teaching

  • Past history of overseeing the work of others

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. 

Employer Qualifications:

  • Final offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and employment authorization verification.
  • All persons living, coming to campus (including vendors and visitors) or an extension of the campus (e.g., off-site classes), or participating in college-sponsored programs (e.g., internships, student teaching, clinical placements, travel, community engagement activities) must complete a daily self-checkup to monitor their health and possible exposure to the coronavirus on the days they are on campus.
  • All persons, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear a mask while working

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Excellent communication and written skills

  • Experience as a para-professional, substitute teacher, teacher, community member who works with children

  • Reliable transportation to and from work site

Compensation

Site Coordinators will be compensated at the rate of $40 per hour, paid every two weeks. This compensation includes training. Site Coordinators will also be reimbursed for mileage expenses or transportation costs as well as for any material purchases made to ensure program success.
