Durham Technical Community College in Durham, NC announces national searches for two positions: Vice President, Chief Campus Operations Officer and its founding Executive Director, Center for Workforce Engagement. VICE PRESIDENT, CHIEF CAMPUS OPERATIONS OFFICER

 

Durham Tech seeks an experienced strategic operational and business leader to serve as a senior officer of the College. The Vice President, Chief Campus Operations Officer will bring an understanding of, and a commitment to, the philosophy, mission, and purpose of the College and the North Carolina Community College System. The Vice President will be responsible for developing and maintaining policies and standards that maximize effectiveness and minimize costs; developing and monitoring operating and capital budgets; ensuring that strategic priorities are addressed and goals met; and maintaining a safe, comfortable, and welcoming campus environment that supports excellence in teaching and learning.

The successful candidate will provide leadership for Campus Police and Public Safety, Facility Services, Information Technology Services, and Campus Operations in both Durham and Orange Counties. Separately and together, these areas provide the core infrastructure, security, and technology support for the College. The Vice President will ensure that key priorities are accomplished and that staff are supported and given the opportunity to develop their managerial and leadership skills.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, CENTER FOR WORKFORCE ENGAGEMENT

 

Durham Tech seeks an experienced, dynamic, entrepreneurial, and creative professional with a record of successful program development and leadership in workforce engagement. The Executive Director, Center for Workforce Engagement will bring a thorough understanding of, and a commitment to, the philosophy, mission, and purpose of the College and the North Carolina Community College System and will possess the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively in the College and the broader community.  The Executive Director will strengthen and expand existing programs, create new and innovative offerings to meet the needs of regional businesses and workforce professionals, and elevate the visibility of Durham Tech within the region.

 

The successful candidate will serve as the planning officer, spokesperson, and advocate for the Center for Workforce Engagement and will provide leadership and support for program development, relationship building with community agencies and businesses, and collaborations across the College. The Executive Director will prepare and manage the Center’s budget and will strategically allocate resources among programs and new initiatives.
