Position Focus:
Supervise Audio-Visual staff who are responsible for providing Audio-Visual support services for the Yale School of Medicine and the Medical Campus. Consult with departments and clients to determine Audio-Visual support needs and recommend solutions. Responsible for the oversight of daily requests, scheduling and incident reporting via custom Filemaker Pro database and ServiceNow queues. Maintain working relationship with departments that support events on the Medical Campus to ensure compliance with university policies and procedures (e.g. Facilities, Security, Risk Management, Conference Services, etc). Work with ITS-Med to develop, implement and maintain AV standards cross the medical campus. As member of the AV management team of Media Technology Services assist in developing staff, providing recommendations, and setting the long-term strategy for AV technologies at Yale University.

Essential Duties
1. Supervises and monitors non-standard systems production work. 2. Oversees the activities of team and shift employees and supervisors within a department to ensure smooth and timely production schedules. 3. Evaluates policies and procedures and recommends changes to maximize efficiency and service. 4. Communicates and coordinates needed repairs, upgrades and maintenance. 5. Works with systems personnel to resolve complex technical problems. 6. Maintains security and ensures adherence to departmental goals, budgets and expectations. 7. Participates in the evaluation of, and planning of staff within the area of responsibility. 8. Supervises and schedules staff of employees. 9. May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in relevant technical field and a minimum of three years of related technical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skill/Ability 1:
Demonstrated experience supervising and managing Audio-Visual staff in a university or medical school setting. Well-developed managerial, financial management and problem-solving skills.

Required Skill/Ability 2:
Proven ability to provide high quality and responsive service and support in a high-pressure environment.

Required Skill/Ability 3:
Strong written, oral, and listening skills needed to communicate technical issues to faculty, staff, and students and to communicate the needs of faculty, staff, and students to a wide range of IT and administrative personnel.

Valid driver's license with the ability to drive on rare occasions.

Required Skill/Ability 4:
Proven knowledge of AV equipment such as Control System (Extron, Crestron, QSC), Projection Technology (Epson, Sony, Panasonic), Mixers, switchers, amplifiers, PTZ cameras, VTC equipment and protocols.

Required Skill/Ability 5:
Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize a complex workload, collaborate effectively and flexibly with a large number of faculty, staff, students, interns, community members, guest artists, and other professionals representing a wide diversity of personalities and cultures. Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for long periods. Repeatedly bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, squat, and crouch. Repeatedly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 lbs. Climb stairs and ladders and work effectively at elevations up to 40'.
