The Opportunity
The University of South Florida Muma College of Business invites applications and nominations in the search for the next Dean of the Kate Tiedemann School of Business and Finance.

The University of South Florida Kate Tiedemann School of Business and Finance (“Kate Tiedemann” or “Kate Tiedemann School”) is one of six schools within the Muma College of Business. Kate Tiedemann programs embrace a philosophy built on foundational education, experiential learning, and a commitment to student professional development. The Kate Tiedemann School is home to 1,170 undergraduate students and 385 graduate students. The School is grounded in student success, thought leadership, and community engagement. Its growing programs give opportunities for valuable hands-on experiences to our students, including but not limited to internships, the Real Estate Society, the Personal Financial Planning Program, and two Student Managed Investment Funds.

Reporting to the Dean of the Muma College of Business, the Tiedemann-Cotton Dean of the Kate Tiedemann School of Business and Finance serves as a liaison between the USF leadership, Campus leadership and the Muma Executive Leadership with the goal to help USF maintain preeminence and achieve AAU status. The Tiedemann-Cotton Dean advances the mission of the University and the Muma College of Business at the St. Petersburg branch campus, serves as the director for all college finance programs, and provides strategic leadership in engaging the local community and the business community. Kate Tiedemann School has 25 full-time faculty and 10 full-time staff members across the three campuses. The Tiedemann-Cotton Dean has responsibility for student, faculty and staff related needs for the school, community engagement, donor engagement and fundraising and will play a lead role in accreditation maintenance.

The Tiedemann-Cotton Dean will have strong leadership and interpersonal skills, have demonstrated administrative experience and fundraising capability, a dynamic management style, a capacity to integrate diverse interests and forge a common vision, and enthusiasm to match the energy of highly motivated students, faculty, staff, and alumni worldwide. The successful candidate will have a proven record of achievement that demonstrates impeccable academic judgment and an uncompromising commitment to academic excellence, a commitment to diversity in all its forms, and an unwavering ethical compass. The candidate will have experience equivalent to the Dean’s role and responsibilities, an earned doctorate in an appropriate field, and distinguished scholarly accomplishment, and/or comparable professional achievements that merit appointment at the rank of a full professor.
