Job Description Summary
This position reports to the CCI Associate Director for Translational Science Operations to manage aspects connected to clinically-related funded research. This person will lead the effective functioning of funded research programs within the Center for Cellular Immunotherapies to ensure a highly integrated and competitive research environment that will drive successful translation and development of novel immunotherapies. In this role, the candidate will serve as the main source of facilitation and management of project-specific goals in relation to the stated aims and funding. This will involve coordination and oversight across multiple laboratories and functional groups. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining a broad understanding of ongoing research activities, helping to translate scientific activities into financial projections and budgets, promoting collaborative research, and monitoring research progress in relation to goals and spending. Key responsibilities include driving and maintaining timelines, holding regular agenda-driven meetings for each project and ensuring completion of action items, managing and assisting in the drafting of progress reports to funding agencies, and providing regular updates to senior scientific and business leadership for purposes of strategic planning and resource assessment. The candidate will also be expected to actively engage in related activities during the application process for research funding/grants as well. This position will also work closely with the CCI Director of Fiscal Operations in relation to the management of awarded research funds and required reporting, as well as providing assistance during the application process for new funding awards.

Qualifications:

Masters or equivalent degree and 3-5 years accumulated or equivalent combination of education and experience required in translational research (Cancer biology /T cell immunology/Gene editing preferred), familiarity with management activities associated with human research, and grant applications and/or management. Ability to accurately work under deadline pressure, strong communication, presentation, and program management skills required.

This position is contingent upon funding.
