Job Description

Position serves as an Assistant Director of Facilities for New Bolton Center campus focusing on the day-to day operations of the campus including oversight of the Mail Room, Security and Allam House housekeeping staff. This position will also serve as a liaison between contractors and campus operations during renovations/repair projects communicating with key stakeholders about potential disruptions. This position will assist the maintenance crew with ordering supplies, sourcing items and prioritizing projects. This position will also be responsible for approving time off and payroll functions within WorkDay for multiple departments.


Provide direction and oversight for our campus security operation that is a third party vendor. Establish and review SOP's and operations to ensure that the vendor is meeting our standards and maintaining a safe environment. Work directly with Penn Security to manage this vendor. Prioritizing projects and communication with building occupants. Involve appropriate building occupants or staff in renovation/construction in an effort to control and manage the impact of projects on other affected building occupants and systems. Plan for and coordinate occupancy of completed projects. Collaborate with others to identify and manage required non-architectural components such as fixtures, furnishing, equipment, tele- and data communications, security, signage, move-in, and any other aspects necessary for successful occupancy. Perform special studies and projects as requested by the Director of Facilities. Develop sound recommendations and present them in a logical, concise manner. Implement emergent projects as mandated by SVM priorities. Assist the Director of Facilities with the day to day operations of the campus including direct supervision of the Mail room operations and Allam house cleaning staff. Assist Director of Facilities in evaluating need, developing space programs/space plans, confirming feasibility including code evaluation using other Facilities staff when needed. As it relates to furniture and interiors, represent interest of NBC in projects. Liaise w/vendors and NBC end-users to move initiative forward in a coop/efficient manner. Coordinate end-user participation consistent w/department programs to achieve quality project outcomes. Resolve problems/establish priorities during project. Approval of PTO and payroll functions in workday system.


Bachelors degree and 3-5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Excellent written and oral communication skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office. Good managerial and people skills including accurate and precise statements from an organized individual willing to follow procedures/regimen. Familiar with database software packages, and with basic building infrastructure systtems and space planning. Ability to read blueprints is required and interact with mechanical technicians.
