The Department of Pharmacology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Associate or Full Professor positions in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of the use of animal models, humans, genetics, human immune profiling, or epigenetics to study mechanisms of asthma causation, aberrant lung injury and repair due to environmental exposures, response and non-response to therapeutic agents and the use of biologics. Applicants must have an M.D./Ph.D degree.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching graduate or medical students in the School of Medicine.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include sustaining an independently funded research program of national or international recognition in the discipline.

Individuals at the Senior level are expected to have a nationally recognized extramurally funded research program in asthma.

The primary faculty appointment will be in the Department of Systems Pharmacology & Translational Therapeutics or a School of Medicine department that is consistent with the scientific expertise of the successful candidate. Opportunity for joint recruitment or secondary academic appointment in the Department of Medicine (within the Divisions of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine or Translational Medicine and Human Genetics) or the Department of Pediatrics (based in Children's Hospital of Philadelphia).

The successful candidate will also be a member of the Center for Excellence in Environmental Toxicology and the Institute for Immunology.
