Assistant/Associate Professor in Sport Psychology

Miami University (Oxford, OH) is announcing a search for an Assistant/Associate Professor in Sport Psychology to teach undergraduate and graduate courses beginning Fall Semester 2022. Responsibilities include teaching sport psychology courses; maintaining an active research agenda; advising students; and providing professional service to the department, college, and institution. 


Minimum Qualifications Required: A doctorate in Sport Leadership, Sport Psychology, or closely-related field required by date of appointment.

Appointment to the rank of Associate Professor will require established research record and five years of collegiate level teaching experience.  


Preferred Qualifications: Consideration may be given to candidates with evidence of high-quality instruction, experience teaching sport psychology courses at the college level, evidence of scholarship in sport psychology or closely-related field, and certification attained or in progress as Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC).

Sport Leadership and Management (SLAM) is a growing department of 600+ undergraduate students and 40+ graduate students. The mission of SLAM is to prepare students to succeed in leadership positions in the sport industry by providing them with knowledge and skills to critically analyze and innovatively engage in the business and culture of sport. The SLAM undergraduate major has four areas of concentration designed to prepare students for specific career opportunities in Sport Management, Coaching, Sport Journalism, and Sport Media and Communication. Students often co-major or minor in management, marketing, or entrepreneurship in the Farmer School of Business, a nationally ranked top-25 undergraduate business program. The Master of Science in Sport Leadership is a research-based, critical study of sport practices, structures, performance, and culture, for students interested in careers in mental performance consulting, student-athlete development, coaching, sport management, and doctoral study towards higher education careers.
