Assistant Director of Loans

The primary focus of the Assistant Director of Loans is to provide supervision to the Loan Area, including three full-time classified employees and two to three student employees. Specific responsibilities include management of the Federal Direct Loan and private loan programs, totaling $45 million and $35 million annually. This position is responsible for overseeing the processing and reconciliation of both loan programs along with the institutional long-term loan program. The incumbent develops and implements improvements to loan area processing. This individual investigates USDE Draft Cohort Default Rate details and appeals and required fraud claims through federal lenders. This position handles the Deceased Student Loan Borrower process and Financial Literacy Program. They are responsible for testing and implementation of COD and NSLDS processing and transmission and uses OBIEE and PeopleSoft to track and monitor annual loan area reports. This person assists the Associate Director of Financial Aid with implementation of Loan Area policies and procedures and submits OIT requests for changes and updates to PeopleSoft processes. It is imperative this individual stay abreast of federal changes by participating in professional development opportunities and requests and implements necessary system updates. This position also advises students and parents regarding financial aid options, answering questions via appointment, phone and email as well as participating in Financial Aid and Undergraduate Admissions outreach activities. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required by start date.

A minimum of three years of related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree
