Associate Director Development and Alumni Affairs Georgia State University College of Law

 

Georgia State University College of Law currently seeks a dynamic individual to serve as Associate Director for Development. Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Law Development and Alumni Affairs, this position will manage the college's annual gift campaigns, specifically working to meet both annual giving and alumni participation goals and taking lead responsibility for the Annual Fund while supporting the meaningful relationships the College shares with its graduates and supporters.

 

Essential responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Identifies, cultivates, and maintains relationships with donors and volunteers.
  • Develops and manages a portfolio of major and minor gift prospects through the entire cycle of development.
  • Manages annual and class gift campaigns and provide organizational support for the alumni association.
  • Identifies fundraising priorities and devises plans and strategies to accomplish goals.
  • Establishes short and long-term goals for the development effort, including fundraising strategies, and building cases for support.
  • Work collaboratively with the deans, faculty, and development colleagues in support of fundraising initiatives.
  • Utilizes appropriate development and reporting processes.
  • Monitors and objectively evaluates all fundraising appeals.
  • Develops standard activities and other appropriate statistical reports on annual gifts.
  • Manages annual gift campaign.
  • Establishes a core group of volunteers and oversee the performance and engagement of those volunteers.
  • Staffs all major external relations programs and regional events as needed.
  • Undertakes special assignments as requested.

 

The position will require some evening work to accommodate evening and weekend developmentrelated events.  Application review for this position will begin immediately and interviews scheduled on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

Qualifications:  

Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in solicitation of gifts up to $25,000; or a combination of education and related experience.
