Faculty Position in Education Data Science

The Stanford University Graduate School of Education seeks an open-rank, tenure-track faculty member who will contribute to a new program in education data science. We are interested in candidates from a variety of academic disciplines whose research exemplifies this emerging field. We invite applications from candidates who specialize in learning analytics, educational data mining, and/or education big data, and who make effective use of new computational methods, such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, network analysis and/or natural language processing techniques. A strong preference will be given to applicants who use state of the art computational methodologies to drive discovery and address problems in education.

 

The successful candidate will contribute to teaching and advising doctoral and masters students in the Graduate School of Education.  

 

Applicants are required to provide:

  • a cover letter (short)
  • research statement (~3 pages)
  • teaching statement (~1 page)
  • curriculum vitae
  • three scholarly publications and/or well-developed papers
  • Applicants for Assistant rank positions should submit three letters of reference.
  • Applicants for Associate and Full Professor ranks should submit a list of three names of references (complete with addresses and phone numbers). We will request letters of recommendation for a short list of finalists only.
