The Office of Undergraduate Admissions at The College of New Jersey seeks a self motivated dynamic individual to serve as an Admissions Counselor.

This Admissions Counselor will report to the Associate Director of Admissions with a primary responsibility of recruiting first year students, with an emphasis on supporting data management efforts through the Office's CRM system (Slate Technoloutions).  Secondary reponsibilities will include providing support for specific cohorts (i.e. out-of-state, multicultural) and assisting with communication creation, social media and other marketing efforts. Duties will include in-state and out-of-state travel, reading applications, answering telephone calls and inquiries, responding to emails, and meeting with prospective students and families.  Nights and weekend work will be required during heavy travel seasons in the fall and spring semesters.  Virtual events participation will be expected.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment of first-year in-state and out-of-state students

  • Support management of office CRM system.  Assist staff with building and modifying queries, reports, forms, and digital communications.  Develop efficiencies to support the Admissions Operation  

  • On-campus recruitment events, off-campus college fairs and high school visits, virtual events

  • Review and evaluate admissions applications

  • Support communication and social media efforts 

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's Degree

  • Strong Oral presentation skills

  • Strong written communciation skills

  • Feels comfortable in a virtual environment

  • A valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 to 2 Years Admissions experience at a competitive institution (either as an admissions professional or student ambassador)
  • Leadership experience within the TCNJ community or a competitive college environment
  • Experience with data collection/analysis, database management, automations and/or CRM systems.
  • Comfortable engaging with diverse populations
