Director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)
UCLA External Affairs (EA) is the fundraising leader among public universities, raising philanthropic support that advances UCLA's mission of education, research and service for the betterment of our global society. The success of our fundraising and advocacy program is deeply rooted in the enduring relationships that we build and sustain with UCLA donors and friends.
In External Affairs, we strive to nurture a work environment of inclusive excellence enriched by diverse perspectives where all individuals can flourish. We seek a Director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) who is inspired by change and the challenge of strengthening EDI in EA's work and culture. In this role, you will create structural change at strategic and policy levels to drive our core work of fundraising and advocacy. Reporting to the Vice Chancellor, External Affairs, and the Senior Executive Director, Employee and Organizational Engagement (EOE), you will serve as a strategic advisor to EA leadership in building and evaluating practices that deliver on our commitment to EDI.
Your work will resonate beyond EA to our larger UCLA community. You will collaborate with our development, alumni relations, government & community relations and advancement services units to build programs that fulfill the needs of UCLA's diverse constituents. By liaising with UCLA's Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and campus Equity Advisors, you will create a framework for executing campus-wide EDI initiatives. You will partner with EA's EDI Council, and represent EA and UCLA at various university and external events, conferences and community engagements. Your expertise will guide our human resources and training teams to create programs to educate and develop skills on strengthening equity, diversity, and inclusion in all workplace activities. You will share insights to develop a more diversified talent pipeline, and promote growth opportunities and an inclusive environment where employees at all levels can perform at their best.
