Position description

The Department of Radiology (http://radiology.ucsd.edu) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. The department is seeking fellowship-trained interventional radiologist(s) to join the Division of Interventional Radiology.

The successful candidate(s) will participate in clinical, teaching, and research programs, and also lead the division's expanding musculoskeletal interventions practice together with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded. As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must have an MD, completed a 1-year fellowship in interventional radiology, and be board certified/board eligible in interventional radiology. Candidates must also have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.

Preferred qualifications

Candidates with extensive experience in musculoskeletal and palliative interventions are preferred. Candidates with dual board certification in palliative care, extensive clinical experience, leadership, and expertise in all aspects of interventional radiology are also preferred.
