Job Summary/Basic Function:
Teachers College seeks a skilled and collaborative individual to join our team as the Senior Associate Director of Admission Operations. The person in this position ensures that the operations of the Office of Admission – including application review and processing, data management, development and adherence to operational timelines, and budget monitoring – are executed effectively and efficiently. The Senior Associate Director will report to the Director of Admission & New Student Enrollment and work closely with the Office of Admission leadership team to achieve enrollment goals and objectives.

The Senior Associate Director of Admission Operations will be responsible for:

 

  • Working closely with the Director of Admission & New Student Enrollment to translate departmental strategy into practice, and leading project management for new initiatives
  • Designing and executing innovations and improvements to office processes/policies as deemed necessary or worthwhile
  • Overseeing the timely processing of all inquiries, applications, admission decisions, deposits, and special requests related to applicants
  • Working closely with colleagues in the Division of Enrollment Management and across the College to ensure accurate and seamless service to programs and students
  • Supervising the Admission Systems Specialist, Admission Assistants, and part-time/temporary staff
  • Providing support for on-campus, off-campus, and virtual recruitment efforts and events
  • Ensuring that all admission criteria and program requirements are up to date
  • Assisting the Director of Admission & New Student Enrollment with budget development and reports
  • Completing regular processing and systems-related tasks in support of application review/operations
  • In consultation with the other Associate Directors, providing leadership and representation for the Office of Admission in the absence of the Director

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Among the attributes we seek in the Senior Associate Director are:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in higher education admissions
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience and demonstrated strength at managing employees with diverse job functions
  • Skill at translating complex concepts and strategy into practice
  • Ability to organize and lead project management for multiple simultaneous initiatives in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Technolutions Slate and Ellucian Banner information systems and ability to learn new software
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to anticipate office needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills that enable good collaboration with other offices
  • Ability to create a positive spirit within an office environment
  • Commitment to working with diverse populations in an inclusive workplace; and
  • Ability to demonstrate self-direction, motivation, and a sense of urgency to achieve goals.
    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree preferred. Familiarity with Technolutions Banner and Ellucian Slate preferred.
