Position description

The Department of Radiology at UC San Diego (http://radiology.ucsd.edu) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is seeking a fellowship-trained Neuroradiologist to join our faculty.

UC San Diego School of Medicine is ranked among the top research-intensive medical-school programs in the nation by US News & World Report. UC San Diego Health is the only academic health system serving San Diego across campuses in Hillcrest and La Jolla, including 2 TJC Comprehensive Stroke Centers, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Care Center, Level 1 Trauma/Burn Center, Level 4 Epilepsy Center, Level 3 NICU, and Center of Excellence for Parkinson's Disease.

UC San Diego Department of Radiology is one of the most innovative and productive academic departments in the country, offering state-of the-art services for clinical and translational studies. The Neuroradiology Division's faculty cover the UC San Diego Health sites and Teleradiology services, as well as serve in leadership roles within the Health System and broader campus, regional, and international organizations.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded. As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Applicants must have an MD or equivalent degree. Candidates must also have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California. Candidates must have successfully completed at least a 1-year ACGME-accredited neuroradiology fellowship and possess experience in interpretation of and educating trainees across MRI and CT of the brain, spine, and head and neck. Board certification in Diagnostic Radiology and Neuroradiology CAQ is required. Candidates who have graduated within the last two years must be Board and CAQ-eligible.
