A renowned leader in fashion-related education located in the fashion capital of the world, LIM College seeks a new Vice President of Student Affairs (VPSA) to serve as the chief student affairs officer of the College. Reporting directly to the President, the VPSA has overall responsibility for providing leadership, management, and supervision to the Office of Student Affairs, Housing and Residence Life, Student Life, Counseling and Accessibility Services and Compliance (non-Title IV). The VPSA will lead and advance the campus culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The VPSA will collaborate with counterparts in Academic Affairs (AA) and other relevant departments to develop extracurricular programming that broadens and enhances the undergraduate and graduate student experience in all modalities. The VPSA will have a seat on the President’s Cabinet, and as such, will be looked to for solutions to challenges confronting the College, and ways to leverage opportunities that will position LIM College as a leader in experiential learning and fashion education. The position will work collaboratively with the College’s diverse stakeholders including academic affairs, career and internship services, external relations and alumni affairs, academic advising, and enrollment management to advance the mission of Student Affairs. The successful candidate should be a strong leader, a mentor, a relationship builder, a reliable colleague, and possess the ability to manage the details of the position, while maintaining a clear sense of the broader institutional context.

Essential qualities for the VPSA include leadership experience in student affairs, strategic planning, budget development, DEI, housing, and compliance. The VPSA should exhibit a collegial and collaborative leadership style and knowledge of current national trends and best practices in student development. Successful candidates should demonstrate a commitment to student success and an understanding of the mission and core values of LIM College. A successful history of supervising and mentoring staff, implementing innovative retention initiatives, and developing collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, and students is strongly preferred. A master’s degree or equivalent experience is required for this opportunity, while a doctoral degree is preferred.
