Instructor, Science and Engineering Librarian

This position offers the opportunity to advance faculty and student research at Maine’s largest library.

The Science and Engineering Librarian, a full-time, 12 month position, will serve as the liaison librarian to our signature areas of Engineering and Engineering Technology, as well as other assigned disciplines.  As a member of the Reference & Information Literacy Department, they will also be part of a team providing in-person and online general reference service, and information literacy instruction, both credit-bearing and course specific. The position also allows opportunities to participate in campus and state-wide committees.

The successful candidate will have experience with reference service at an academic level, evidence of information literacy instruction experience, experience creating web guides and/or tutorials, a clear understanding of the information needs of the members of a university community, and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.  Preferred qualifications include subject experience with engineering materials and collection development experience.
