Bethel University has been a leader and model of Christian higher education since their founding as a seminary in 1871. The University first offered four-year degrees following World War II, and in 2004 Bethel College and Seminary became Bethel University. The University now enrolls over 4000 students and offers 100 areas of study across four schools: The College of Arts & Sciences, the College of Adult & Professional Studies, the Graduate School, and Bethel Seminary. Boldly informed and motivated by the Christian faith, Bethel University educates and energizes men and women for excellence in leadership, scholarship, and service. Bethel prepares graduates to serve in strategic capacities to renew minds, live out biblical truth, transform culture, and advance the gospel.

Bethel’s commitment and motivation for diversity, equity, and inclusion is grounded in the Gospel command to love God and love our neighbors as ourselves. The University is committed to create a climate where student and employees can live, learn, and work in a culture that is characterized by and rooted in the biblical concepts of love, justice and reconciliation. This commitment is evidenced by recent initiatives including the Act Six Scholarship Program, the George Floyd Scholarship, the Cultural Connections Center, and the Micah 6:8 Faculty and Staff Development program.
