The University of California Los Angeles, School of Dentistry invites qualified applications for a full‐time Health Sciences Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, with an appointment in the appropriate academic unit. The Dental Clinic Director reports directly to the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and academic chair. Expertise in the clinical practice of dentistry and practice administration are essential. The desired starting date for this position is July 1, 2021.

The UCLA dental clinics provide over 100,000 patient visits per year and generate revenue in excess of $10M. The scope of responsibilities includes but is not limited to the following:

Dental clinic operations, including new patient services, billing, cashiering, records, and central sterilization

Supervision of full time Group Practice Directors (GPDs), half time Group Practice Leaders (GPLs), and Group Practice Administrators (GPA)

Oversee dental clinic finances, including revenue, expenses, and policies

Oversee dental clinic information management systems (experience with axiUm preferred)

Participation in curriculum development and teaching various topics, including patient and practice management

Coordinate dental clinic marketing, including government, foundation, and private sector support

Final authority to resolve patient conflicts and complaints, and serve as liaison with the UCLA Risk Management Office

Applicants must possess: (1) a DMD/DDS degree from an institution accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) or equivalent, and (2) a California dental license in good standing (or be eligible to obtain one).

Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Applications will be accepted until the position has been filled.
