IT Project Manager

The University of Pittsburgh’s Information Technology (Pitt IT) Department is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager. This is a senior level technical position involving the planning, analysis, design, and implementation of solutions to existing and/or proposed IT systems. This position is responsible for assessing IT needs across the University, recommending programs for meeting those needs and following through to ensure successful implementation of new or updated services. This position is also expected to assist in requirements gathering and user story creation to ensure documentation is completed for assigned projects. They will aid in the design while making sure the scope of the project is maintained. Excellent project management, communication, and customer service skills are required. Experience with project management software and MS office suite required. Experience working in or establishing a centralized PMO preferred. Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall preferred.
 

Master's with 5 years or Bachelor's with 9+ years. Combination of education and experience will be considered in leiu of education requirement. Degree in CS or IS preferred. Experience in project management required. Experience with program and portfolio management preferred. Time spent working in a Center of Excellence for Project Management preferred. Willing to pursue training in project management and business analysis (Six Sigma, Lean, etc). Must be: Collaborative/enjoys working in teams. Creative and effective problem-solving skills. Excellent communicator PMP or equivalent preferred, but not required
