Emory University invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean, Laney Graduate School and Vice Provost for Graduate Affairs.

The James T. Laney School of Graduate Studies is committed to graduate education that provides students with deep and broad expertise in their chosen fields, creativity to cross disciplinary boundaries, courage to challenge convention, and confidence to ask unexpected questions and to articulate bold new perspectives. It offers PhD and Master’s degrees in more than 40 programs across the humanities, the social sciences, biomedical and natural science, public health, nursing, and business. Laney graduate students are present in nearly every area of research at Emory, working with esteemed faculty and researchers to contribute to their disciplines and solve the complex problems of our time.

Laney Graduate School is a leader in implementation of best practices in graduate education, which support both students and faculty. The Dean is the chief academic, administrative, and fiscal officer of the School. This individual will work collaboratively with a range of critical constituencies including faculty, students, staff, alumni, and other supporters to advance the School to even higher levels of excellence in pursuit of its mission. Reporting to the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, the dean will represent the Laney Graduate School within the Council of Deans and the Provost’s Office.
