The University at Buffalo Foundation Board of Trustees invites applications, nominations, and inquiries for the position of Chief Executive Officer.

The University at Buffalo Foundation (UB Foundation), a private, not-for-profit educational corporation, plays a vital role in helping the University at Buffalo (UB) to pursue its mission and vision to establish, enhance, and expand its global reputation for excellence. The UB Foundation supports and promotes UB’s activities and programs by managing UB’s endowment, managing gifts and grants on behalf of UB, providing a wide range of financial services, developing and managing real property on behalf of UB, providing advice and counsel regarding philanthropy and fundraising, and providing a strong base of private sector support for UB through the Foundation’s Board. Throughout the years, the UB Foundation has focused its efforts on helping UB elevate its impact and reach as a premier public research university, the largest and most comprehensive campus in the 64-campus The State University of New York (SUNY) system, and one of just two SUNY schools belonging to the prestigious American Association of Universities.

The UB Foundation is comprised of seven affiliates, each an independent 501(c)(3) entity. UB Foundation and its affiliated corporations have total assets in excess of $1.1 billion and annual revenues that range from $100-$200 million. Reporting to the UB Foundation Board, the Chief Executive Officer provides leadership for all financial, business, and administrative operations of the Foundation with responsibility for the custodianship and investment of all UB Foundation assets; stewardship and expenditure of net assets; preparation and oversight of UB Foundation’s operating budget and financial statements; real estate portfolio and negotiations for debt financed capital projects; enterprise risk management, and management of personnel for financial, investment, information technology, technical, and support functions, among other responsibilities. The Chief Executive Officer serves as the lead liaison to UB Foundation stakeholders, the University at Buffalo, SUNY, New York State auditing entities, the legal and organizational entities that impact UBF, and the greater Buffalo community. 

The UB Foundation Board seeks a highly experienced and qualified professional to provide leadership and direction for the UB Foundation as it seeks to further its philanthropic mission to support UB and grow to $3 billion in assets in by 2030.
