The Boonshoft School of Medicine, Wright State University is seeking an experienced medical education leader to fill a newly created position to lead the MD educational program, ensuring the delivery of an outstanding, state of the art curriculum in a student-centered learning environment. The Vice Dean, Educational Affairs will provide leadership, oversight and coordination for all aspects of undergraduate medical education, including the offices of Student Affairs, Admissions, Diversity/Equity/Inclusion, and the department of Medical Education.

BSOM is a known leader in innovative learning and community-based medical education. With a current enrollment of approximately 480 students, including MD/MPH, MD/PhD, and MD/MBA dual degree programs, BSOM is entering a period of growth, made possible by strong relationships with health system partners in the region, including two robust academic health systems, a regional children’s hospital, a Veteran’s Affairs hospital, and the Wright-Patterson Air Force base. BSOM also sponsors 13 residency programs and 10 fellowship programs, all of which are fully accredited, with a total of nearly 400 GME trainees.

Required:
•MD or DO degree
•Board certification in their specialty
•DEA Registration
•Eligible for Ohio Medical License
•Five years in a significant leadership role in medical education
•Commitment to inclusive excellence
•Knowledge of medical education curricular development, assessment, and latest trends in medical education
•Knowledge of LCME accreditation standards, experience with LCME accreditation
•Demonstrated experience with faculty, administration, and students in an educational environment
•A track-record of scholarship and contributions at the national level is desired.

Associate Professor level candidates must fulfill all the requirements above, along with at least 5 years’ experience as an Assistant Professor with an exemplary scholarly portfolio and supervisory experience.
Full Professor candidates must fulfill all the requirements of Associate Professor along with at least 5 years’ experience at the Associate Professor level with an exemplary scholarly portfolio and leadership experience.
