Assistant, Associate or Full Professor (HS Clin, Clin X, Adjunct, In-Residence) MED - Nephrology

The Division of Nephrology-Hypertension at the University of California, San Diego (http://med.ucsd.edu/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is recruiting an academic nephrologist for a faculty position.

Other duties of the position includes research and scholarly activities as well as teaching medical students, residents and fellows in didactics and clinical settings.

Candidates must have an MD, MD/PhD, or DO and be board certified/board eligible in Nephrology. Candidates must be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the California Medical Board. Candidates must also have completed training in general nephrology.

Candidates with experience in nephrology consultation, critical care nephrology including continuous renal replacement therapy modalities, plasmapheresis, invasive procedures, end-stage renal disease care, and experience and track record in clinically oriented research are preferred.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate of Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded. As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited.
