The University of Denver (known as DU) invites nominations and applications for two critically important positions within DU Advancement: Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC) for Advancement Operations, and Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC) for Development.

Founded in 1864, DU is the oldest independent university in the Rocky Mountain region. It has become one of the West’s premier private universities, and it plays an integral role in the cultural, social, economic, and educational life of the region, and increasingly beyond. The University is an independent, doctoral‐granting research university with high research activity and extensive global reach. U.S. News and World Report lists the University of Denver among the nation’s top 100 universities (#80). Thanks, in part, to its sound fiscal management, its outstanding faculty and high‐achieving students, and its growing stature nationally, the University has increasingly been regarded as a good investment for donors and philanthropists and is ranked among U.S. News and World Report’s best value schools (#58).

There are more than 144,500 active alumni worldwide. Notable DU alumni include former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice; former U.S. Army Chief of Staff General George Casey; former U.S. Secretary of the Interior Gale Norton; Time Magazine editor‐at‐large David Von Drehle; Olympic gold medalist Michelle Kwan; and Peter Coors, chairman of the board of MillerCoors.

The University of Denver’s advancement enterprise has had a tremendous impact through its relationships with DU’s remarkable students, dedicated donors, inspiring alumni, engaged families, and wonderful friends. DU is committed to building and fostering a culture of deep engagement and philanthropy in support of the institution as it implements the DU IMPACT 2025 vision. The University of Denver and DU Advancement deeply value inclusive excellence, recognizing that its success is dependent on how well it values, engages, and includes the rich diversity of constituents.
