The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) seeks an innovative leader to serve as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management (AVC). As a key deputy to the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management, Tina McEntire, who was appointed in June 2020 to craft and lead an integrated institution-wide enrollment management operation, the AVC will provide leadership to the enrollment management division. The Division of Enrollment Management currently consists of four departments with the possibility of future expansion. The current departments include Undergraduate Admissions, University Registrar’s Office, Office of Financial Aid and the Office of Enrollment Communications. With the Vice Chancellor, the AVC will be a partner in the development of a comprehensive institutional strategic enrollment plan. Working closely with the Enrollment Management directors, the new AVC will be responsible for providing overall direction, leadership, and coordination specifically in the areas of undergraduate admission, international admission, partnerships with community colleges, campus partner relations/development, and marketing and communications. The AVC will also play a critical role in research and process improvement in enrollment and student success to identify and remove barriers to student progression.  The successful candidate will be an experienced and forward-looking enrollment leader with a track record of strategic planning and leading a successful enrollment operation and growing enrollments.

Founded in 1891, UNCG is a public, coeducational, doctoral-granting, residential university and one of the three original institutions of the University of North Carolina System. The University holds two classifications from the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching—as a “doctoral university with high research activity” and as a university with a deep “community engagement” in its curriculum, outreach, and partnerships. UNCG is also a federally designated Minority-Serving Institution. The University enrolls approximately 20,000 students, including more than 3,700 graduate students.  According to U.S. News & World Report, UNCG is the most diverse public university in North Carolina. U.S. News also ranks UNCG first in North Carolina and among the top 20 public institutions in the nation for social mobility of undergraduate students.

UNCG embraces its status as an R2 institution and at the same time is fiercely passionate about student access, diversity, and community engagement. The University has a growing profile as a national leader in outcomes for students from rural, low-income, and under-represented minority backgrounds; the U.S. Department of Education has recently cited the institution for “excelling in access and success” with Pell-eligible students. The University is among a very small number of research institutions in the US that have closed the race/ethnicity-based graduation gap. The AVC will lead a high-performing staff of professionals in the continuous improvement of their methods and processes.
