Harvard Business School (HBS) seeks applications and nominations for the newly created position of Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer (CDIO). The HBS CDIO will be a strategic thinker and intellectual leader who will cultivate a shared vision of diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the HBS community. The CDIO will play a lead role in developing and implementing a strategy for achieving a culture of inclusive excellence in alignment with the School’s Racial Equity Plan (REP), along with equity related to race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, and age. The CDIO will provide expertise and empower the work of faculty, students, and staff, as well as alumni and other constituencies, across the School and beyond.

Reporting to the HBS Dean’s Office and partnering with the Senior Associate Dean for Culture and Community, the CDIO will be a member of the HBS senior administrative leadership team and infuse diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts into the core activities, programs, and areas of the School. Additionally, the CDIO will spur new initiatives that engage the School’s constituencies, strengthen relationships with Harvard University and the surrounding Boston community, and leverage partnerships to realize mutual benefit and impact. The successful candidate will be a thought leader and subject matter expert who will serve as a trusted advisor and implementer on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion across HBS. This individual will collaborate with partners across campus to develop a strategic plan, build and sustain a robust network of practitioners and stakeholders, and assemble and maintain systems to measure, evaluate, and assess the impact of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
