rovide leadership, direction, and support for financial aid related systems and technology. Serve as primary point of contact with OIT and with external state and federal agencies requiring system / data integration. Serves in a leadership position on the senior staff team of the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships.

Collaborate with the Office of Information Technology to design and implement technology solutions in support of mission critical financial aid programs, functions, and business processes. Coordinate and facilitate requirements gathering and analysis, including development and implementation of functional specifications, integration documents, and testing scripts. Utilize reporting tools to extract data from operational data systems to help with analysis, testing, and troubleshooting of non-routine production system problems.

Performs complex tasks involving strategic systems planning, management, and support in relation to programming requirements for PeopleSoft to follow current Title IV Regulations and Best Practices. Demonstrates the ability to research, trouble-shoot, and provide technical analysis for issues encountered with the PeopleSoft system. Provides solutions to issues and takes responsibility for performing system configuration updates or working with Information Technology via Change Management tools.

Lead efforts related to technology improvements. Establish vision and priorities for technology initiatives in conjunction with student financial aid administrative staff. Keep abreast of technology changes that may enhance services provided by the office. Contribute to administrative leadership team to support critical needs of the office and academic community. Assist as needed to ensure strategic enrollment management division is meeting its goals.

Develops PeopleSoft queries to be used in processes. Creates custom queries out of PeopleSoft for use troubleshooting and ad-hoc needs. Provides specifications for information technology for SQL updates that are needed. Reviews, recommends, and resolves issues for financial aid module of PeopleSoft related to duplicate entity issues. Trains staff granted access to financial aid module of PeopleSoft.

Develops statistical reports using Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) reporting tool.

Direct and support the assistant/associate financial aid directors and subject matter experts in testing processes, customizations, and integrations that are related to their areas. This includes understanding detailed processes in the following broad financial aid areas: Needs Analysis, Award Packaging, Disbursement, Loans, Grants, Work Study, Scholarships, Compliance, Verification

Coordinate and perform testing of financial aid related software modules within the PeopleSoft student information system and other financial aid related software systems (e.g., custom developed and third party solutions) when new releases, patches, bundles, critical updates, modifications, or integrations are made. Document changes made to financial aid modules and disseminate information as appropriate to users. Document functional processes and modifications made to the student system.

Oversees annual federal, state, and institutional packaging (awarding) process of all undergraduate, graduate, and medical students. Manages a team responsible for processing state grants, Federal Direct Loan Program, and private loans, and reporting to COD and NSLDS. Directs athletic aid awarding, including compliance with NCAA regulations. Directs state Ohio College Opportunity Grant program. Responsible for configuration, testing, and awarding for Ohio University’s flagship scholarship program, the OHIO Excellence Award Program This includes initial awarding for incoming freshmen and renewal awarding of the three continuing cohort years.

Uses developed reports from OBIEE to complete required statistical surveys such as IPEDS, Common Data Set, Peterson’s, and US News. Creates ad-hoc reports utilizing OBIEE for data integrity consistency checking, immediate nature needs, and reconciliation of financial aid module discrepancies. Designs, builds, modifies Equations, callable SQL, and Financial Aid Packaging/Repackaging Plans to reflect the packaging policies of the institution and in compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies.
