Today, Oglethorpe enrolls 1,452 students, representing over 30 states and 30 countries. Students choose Oglethorpe because of our small class sizes, mentorship provided by committed faculty and staff, internship opportunities in the city of Atlanta, and its commitment to affordability.  Among its many accolades, Oglethorpe is the only school in Georgia, public or private, to be named among the nation’s top 20 “best buy” schools in the latest Fiske Guide to Colleges. In addition, Forbes ranks Oglethorpe 33rd among America’s most entrepreneurial colleges, and US News and World Report recognizes it as the 14th most diverse student body among liberal arts colleges nationwide and as one of America’s best national liberal arts colleges.

The successful candidate will have an earned PhD or terminal degree and demonstrate a proven understanding, commitment, and track record of contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion. In addition, the next Provost should have a distinguished record of teaching and scholarship commensurate with full professor status. An active and visible member on campus and in the broader community, the Provost will possess a deep appreciation for the history, achievements, and aspirations of Oglethorpe, while seeking to build upon those strengths in expanding opportunities for its faculty, students, and staff.
