The Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration (ADFA) reports directly to and serves as an advisor to the Dean. The ADFA will partner with College leadership in maintaining our financial and administrative commitment to academic and research activities in all aspects of their areas of assigned responsibility, decisions, and recommendations.

 

This is a highly visible and high impact position that helps develop and implement the strategic direction of the college and is responsible for the implementation and oversight of business operations for the College, including fiscal, information technology, and facilities functions, and alignment with human resources.

 

This position serves as a member of the Dean’s cabinet and demonstrates a sustained commitment to diversity and inclusion in all aspects of leadership and management activities, decisions, and recommendations. Develops and maintains the centralized budget for the college. The position requires the capacity to think strategically and forecast, model and project revenue in addition to developing business growth and reallocation plans. Assumes responsibility for anticipating opportunities and threats, and advising on prioritization of initiatives, with a strong focus on sustainability and financial strength.  Resolves issues on behalf of senior leadership of the college.

 

Responsible for oversight and maintenance of the established financial and operational processing environment to ensure adherence to established internal control structures. This includes, but is not limited to, appropriate segregation of duties in the processing of all financial transactions, appropriate mandatory approvals and appropriate mandatory reconciliations.

 

Minimum Education Required

Master's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in business administration or accounting

 

Required Qualifications

Extensive experience in an administrative and managerial capacity as senior fiscal officer in a university setting desired. Demonstrated ability in university budget management, information technology, facilities and human resources desired. Requires strong problem solving skills, planning, outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
