Vice President for Student Affairs

St. Norbert College
Vice President for Student Affairs

St. Norbert College, a thriving, nationally ranked Catholic liberal arts college known for its academic excellence, international focus, and leadership and service opportunities seeks its next senior student affairs officer. Situated on a vibrant, riverside campus in De Pere, Wisconsin, a community contiguous with the city of Green Bay. St. Norbert is the only college in the world sponsored by the Norbertines, a Catholic order devoted to community, education, and serving the needs of others.

About St. Norbert College: As one of the nation's top Catholic liberal arts colleges, St. Norbert builds on the beliefs and practices of an ancient religious order while responding to the current needs of our students and communities. Today, at St. Norbert College, the spirit of Norbert of Xanten, who founded the Norbertine order of priests in the twelfth century, lives through this modern, bustling riverfront community dedicated to transforming and empowering its students. The college has seen remarkable development in the past decade, particularly the construction and renovation of more than $150 million in campus facilities and infrastructure. The college's fundraising has been excellent and has included a recent $30 million transformational gift added to the institution's endowment, which has grown from $38 million in 1998 to $160 million.

St. Norbert is characterized by recent strong enrollments, as evidenced with the largest, most diverse, and most talented first-year class in the college's history; St. Norbert's eight largest first-year classes have enrolled in the last decade. St. Norbert is a four-year residential campus with a student body consisting of 1,900 undergraduate students from 25 states, 17 countries, and five continents, as well as 81 graduate students. Ninety-seven percent of the undergraduate students are between 18 and 22 years of age. Nearly all of the students live on or near the campus, which creates a strong sense of community and a wide range of opportunities for involvement.

Vice President for Student Affairs: The selected candidate will join the St. Norbert College community at an exciting time, as the college's strategic plan is focused on significantly and strategically enhancing the student learning experience. The Vice President for Student Affairs is a newly designed position, developed to help the college enhance an already-vibrant student experience and improve on the strong record of student engagement, retention, and completion. St. Norbert College is seeking an innovative thought-leader who can provide strategic and visionary leadership to address pressing higher education concerns, and to work as a co-architect of the student experience alongside the vice president for academic affairs. This chief student affairs officer will propel the division into the future, developing a rich student-centered experience grounded in the college's mission and core traditions. The VPSA, who reports directly to the president, serves as a member of the president's cabinet, is a voice for students, and is deeply engaged in all aspects of organizational planning toward advancing the mission and objectives of the college, including meeting the needs of all students to foster an inclusive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to flourish.

The VPSA will oversee and support a portfolio that includes: Residential Education & Housing; Leadership, Student Engagement, & First-Year Experience; Multicultural Student Services; Ray Van Den Heuvel Family Campus Center; Counseling & Psychological Services; Career and Professional Development; Emmaus Center for Spiritual Life & Vocation; Health Services; Student Judicial Affairs; Sturzl Center for Community Service & Learning; and Campus Safety. The VPSA will hold shared responsibility (along with the president) for supporting the important work of St. Norbert College Parish.
