IS&T is a diverse community where exceptional students and award-winning faculty work together to address today’s most pressing problems. The college provides students an innovative, multidisciplinary, and engaged educational experience in a unique environment distinct from any other in the region. Through undergraduate and graduate programs and co-curricular opportunities, the college prepares students for leadership in information technology and impactful citizenship in our global community.

For more than 100 years, UNO has been firmly anchored in its community, forging partnerships with business, government, education, arts, and civic organizations. No fences or barriers separate students from the opportunities the greater Omaha community offers. At the heart of UNO’s metropolitan university mission is the belief and understanding that success at UNO means success for Omaha, and success for Omaha means success for UNO. Through community partnerships, IS&T is transforming the way information technology is perceived, researched, and taught, actively engaging diverse students and educating learners in the creation, innovation, and building of technologies in their fields of interest.

The next dean will build on the college’s success and engage local, national, and international communities in developing a compelling vision for its future. This is a unique opportunity for a forward-thinking leader who can envision the future of higher education, inspire the community, position IS&T to adapt and innovate in a changing environment, and establish the college as a leader in information technology research and education.

The dean will foster the college’s research enterprise, develop and advance a strategic enrollment management strategy, and prepare IS&T graduates for professional success while strengthening UNO’s connection with local, national, and international communities. The dean will be a champion for student, faculty, and staff success while advocating for the college and all its programs.
