Wagner College, a vibrant private residential liberal arts college with strong professional programs located on Staten Island, New York, invites applications for the position of Dean of the Nicolais School of Business. Celebrating the beginning of Wagner's second century on Staten Island, the College seeks an experienced, ethical, energetic, and entrepreneurial leader for the Nicolais School of Business with a history of innovative program development and collaborative academic leadership. About Wagner College: Wagner College offers 34 undergraduate majors and graduate programs in six fields. The most popular majors include business administration, nursing, theatre, physician assistant, arts administration, and psychology. All students complete internships or practica during their time at Wagner, over 90 percent of courses contain fewer than 30 students, and 37 percent of students participate in study abroad experiences. A recent faculty-led revision to the general education program deploys an impressive skill-based approach with a strong emphasis on writing, reading, oral competence, research, creativity, intercultural competence, technological competence and information literacy, and quantitative and critical thought.

About the Nicolais School of Business: In 2016, Wagner College established the Nicolais School of Business (NSB), honoring two of the college's stalwart supporters of business education, the late Michael A. Nicolais '49 H'14 and his wife, Margaret Christie Nicolais '49 H'14. Offering a practical education to undergraduates and graduate business students in a culture of personalized attention and drawing on the learning opportunities of New York City, the Nicolais School of Business is committed to cultivating principled leaders for the global marketplace through teaching excellence and faculty scholarship in business practice and learning and pedagogy. The NSB is accredited by Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Current undergraduate and graduate programs include accounting, management, marketing, and finance. A graduate program in media management is also under the aegis of the School.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean will play a lead role in articulating the School's vision, and in further strengthening and diversifying its curriculum. Working collaboratively with faculty, students, and staff, the Dean will endeavor to shape the academic and intellectual identities of the School to meet the needs of today's students and faculty in a rapidly changing world, while setting a high standard for execution of all plans in a timely, resource-responsible manner. Beyond the School, the Dean will work collegially with other academic leaders and senior administrators at the College to accomplish Wagner College's mission and strategic goals, while ensuring efficient and effective communication with stakeholder groups in the School, College, and in the broader community. The Dean will lead fundraising projects in cooperation with the College's advancement office. Modeling the commitment to students' development that exemplifies the staff, faculty and administration of Wagner College, the Dean will teach one course each semester.

Qualifications: The Dean of the Nicolais School of Business must possess an earned doctorate and an established record of successful institutional leadership at the level of department chair or higher.
