Lecturer in Criminal Justice

The University of North Carolina at Pembroke seeks applications for a Lecturer in Criminal Justice in the Sociology and Criminal Justice Department.

Teach face to face and online introductory level, intermediate, and advanced courses in criminology, criminal justice, and perhaps sociology. Opportunities may be available to teach graduate courses in criminal justice and sociology. This position may require teaching and advising assignments at off-campus satellite programs. Serve as faculty adviser to students. Perform administrative tasks as directed by the department chair.

Minimum Training and Experience Requirements: Applicants must hold a Master’s in degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in criminology or criminal justice, or a PhD in criminology or criminal justice. ABD’s in criminology or criminal justice will be considered. All earned degrees must be from regionally accredited colleges or universities. A minimum of three years of full-time, in-class (i.e., face to face) teaching experience at a regionally accredited college and/or university are required for this position. Online teaching experience is also desired. Applicants who are not able to teach on the university’s main campus will not be considered.
