Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno invites candidates for the position of Enterprise Data Architect/Senior Enterprise Data Architect in Enterprise Data Management, a service unit of the Office of Information Technology (OIT) division. The Enterprise Data Architect or Senior Enterprise Data Architect designs, develops, and deploys data models (conceptual, logical, physical) and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes with an end-to-end vision. Manages the data dictionary, the data life-cycle, and ensures data quality and integrity of the enterprise data architecture. Architects solutions that enable integration of data from various data sources that support key institutional business operations and other organizational needs. Participates in setting strategy and standards through data architecture, analytics tools, and data management technologies. This position will actively participate in the institutional Data Governance initiatives. Work with OIT and data owners to understand the types of data collected in various repositories and applications.

Required Qualifications

Enterprise Data Architect:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and four (4) years of related professional work experience or a Master's Degree and two (2) years of related work experience.
Related Experience: information technology experience including relational database and some data warehouse experience and SQL .



Senior Enterprise Data Architect:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and five (5) years of related professional work experience or a Master's Degree and three (3) years of related work experience.
Related Experience: progressively complex data warehouse experience including PL/SQL and scripting.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include knowledge and experience of data modeling concepts, data validation and data quality. Experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server Relational Database Management Systems with strong skillsets in SQL and PL/SQL. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Highly self-motivated team-player with a positive “can do” attitude. Experience with Business Intelligence software, integration and data management platforms along with functional knowledge of higher education data is desirable.
