Health Services Researcher

The Department of Internal Medicine in the University of Iowa-Carver College of Medicine is seeking an outstanding Health Services Researcher for an open-rank tenure-track faculty position (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate must have an MD/PhD/PharmD or equivalent degree and experience with Department of Veterans Affairs research and eligibility for VA appointment. We welcome applicants with methodological or content experience in any area of health services research, particularly rural health access and delivery, antimicrobial resistance, implementation science, opiate use, cardiovascular outcomes, cancer diagnosis and treatment, or women’s health.

For consideration at the tenure-track Assistant Professor level, applicants should demonstrate exceptional potential for an extramurally-funded research program and have a track record of peer-reviewed publications.  

For consideration at the tenure-track Associate and Full Professor level, applicants must have a commensurate record of scholarship in peer-reviewed publications, a commensurate record of extramurally-funded research, and a commensurate record of successful mentorship. Desirable attributes also include a record of innovative and effective administrative and fiscal leadership and demonstrated experience promoting a diverse workforce.

The successful candidate must also demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to participate in interdisciplinary research.
