Cardiomyopathy PhD faculty position for research

The University of Iowa’s Francois M. Abboud Cardiovascular Research Center (ACRC) is recruiting a scientist at the level of Assistant Professor in the Tenure Track to join a group of investigators with interest and expertise in cardiovascular diseases. The successful candidate will have an extramurally funded research program centered on the molecular and neurohormonal mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of dilated cardiomyopathy. The successful candidate will have evidence of an independent research program, with first or senior author papers being highly desirable.  The Center has a strong and productive history of investigation in this field and is seeking applicants who can complement current strengths of the core of investigators within the Center. The successful candidate will be a member of this Program and will expected to work collaboratively with other members, with the goal of submitting multi-PI and program project grants.

Applicants must have a PhD and basic science postdoctoral research training experience and must display strong evidence of the potential for independence and the ability to obtain extramural funding. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary and laboratory space adjacent to other members of the Program in the ACRC.  Requires demonstrated ability to develop an extramurally funded research program and requires eligibility to obtain federally funded research grants.
