Franklin College invites applications and nominations for the position of its 17th President.

Founded in 1834, Franklin provides a liberal arts and sciences education that fosters independent thinking, innovation, leadership and action for ever-changing professions and a globally connected world. The College values collaboration and upholds common values that benefit communities and inspire its more than 950 students. The scenic, wooded campus, spanning 207 acres, is located 20 minutes south of downtown Indianapolis, offering students the ideal college experience in a thriving small-town community close to a major metropolitan area.

The successful candidate will embrace the powerful sense of community felt on campus and become fully engaged in that community. The College’s President must be committed to establishing trust with the Franklin College Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, students and alumni. A skilled relationship builder, the President must have a talent for and established results in fundraising, be an enthusiastic advocate for students, and energetically lead Franklin to its next level of excellence. The College seeks a leader with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities currently facing higher education who can strategically prioritize resources to guide the College in the current climate.

The President will work with the faculty to continue to implement the innovative new curriculum, the Pursuit at Franklin College, further exploring how the curriculum prepares students to succeed in a rapidly changing world. The President will strategically manage enrollment and retention and will explore new partnerships to enhance distinctive student research and meaningful immersive experiences. An inspirational presence, the President will effectively help Franklin tell its story in order to receive increased visibility and recognition. Leading with enthusiasm, the President will be a good listener, an adept change leader and a financial manager who will build on Franklin’s strengths, positioning the College for long-term success.
