Position Description:
Founded in 1945, the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering is recognized around the world as a leader in engineering education, research and service. The School has developed generations of rigorously trained engineers and has been the home for solutions to challenges in fields including energy, sustainability, healthcare, communications, transportation, infrastructure and information technology. In addition to the support provided by individual donors, fundraising through foundations and corporations also plays a vital role in moving forward the mission and goals of the Samueli School of Engineering and delivering on the School's promise to enhance engineering excellence in California and around the world. With the School's 75th Anniversary approaching in 2020, now is the time to be involved, engaged and committed to celebrating past achievements and paving the way for future endeavors.

Reporting to the Senior Executive Director of Development, the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) will serve as a key member of the Samueli School of Engineering development team. As part of the School's development management team, this individual will supervise and provide leadership, oversight and strategic direction to CFR staff that plan and implement comprehensive development efforts for corporate and foundation support. The Director will work with the Senior Executive Director to design, expand and execute a comprehensive corporate and foundation relations fundraising strategy in support of key strategic priorities for UCLA Samueli and will be responsible for securing funding from, and growing partnerships with, the School's highest level of corporate and foundation prospects and donors. This individual will work closely with senior leadership and faculty to gain knowledge of research interests and areas of expertise in priority areas. The Director will provide direction, advice and counsel, as appropriate, to UCLA Samueli's academic leadership and Samueli's development officers with regard to development efforts in the design and implementation of goals and objectives to achieve maximum impact from corporate and foundation support. This individual will identify prospective contributors, develop strategies for major gift and corporate fundraising campaigns, produce proposals and grant applications, as well as develop and supervise reporting and stewardship for foundation and corporate donors. In addition, the Director will also establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with appropriate individuals and offices in the School, as well as coordinate and collaborate with the Development's Corporate, Foundation and Research Relations team and the Office of Research Administration.
