Penn State Harrisburg, a comprehensive college of The Pennsylvania State University, one of the largest and most widely recognized institutions in the nation, invites applications and nominations for the position, Director, School of Business Administration. The preferred candidate will possess: an earned Doctorate in, or closely related to, a discipline represented within the School; record of excellence in teaching, research, and service; significant and proven experience in academic leadership in an interdisciplinary unit; proven management skills; demonstrated leadership in the enhancement of undergraduate and graduate education; experience with AACSB accreditation; commitment to cultural diversity; skills for developing collaborative relationships with business and industry; established record of acquiring external funding; and, educational and/or experiential background to effectively represent various disciplines within the School. The School seeks an administrator with an inspiring vision, excellent communication skills, exceptional financial acumen, an understanding of the complexities of a multi-campus, land-grant university, a commitment to cultural diversity and inclusion, and a successful record of faculty development, including relevant and proven experience with, and responsibility for, the promotion and tenure process for an academic unit. The Director sets the standards for engagement, impact, innovation, and promotes high quality teaching, research, and service. The successful candidate will have a record of achievement that qualifies them for appointment as a full professor with tenure in the college. Preferred starting date is July 1, 2020. The School of Business Administration is one of Penn State Harrisburg's five academic schools with over 45 highly-regarded, full-time faculty members. The School has a combined resident and online enrollment of about 1500 students and offers the following business undergraduate and graduate programs: Associate in Science in Business Administration; Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Management, Marketing, Project and Supply Chain Management; and Master of Business Administration, Master of Professional Accounting, and Master of Science in Information Systems. The School is AACSB accredited. In addition, the School is the home of two non-business baccalaureate degree programs: Bachelor of Science in Information Sciences and Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in Security and Risk Analysis. Penn State Harrisburg is located in Middletown, near the city of Harrisburg, the state capital of Pennsylvania. The College is easily accessible via interstate and rail routes from Baltimore, Philadelphia, Washington DC, and New York. Penn State Harrisburg has an enrollment of more than 5000 resident instruction students, including a broad, diverse and non-traditional population and brings nationally accredited academic programs, award-winning faculty, and the resources of a world-class research university to Pennsylvania`s Capital Region. The College offers students the opportunity to earn baccalaureate degrees in 37 academic majors. As a graduate center, the College offers 27 master's degrees and 3 doctoral degree programs.
